Christchurch Airport is New Zealand's second largest airport, with regular services to 15 destinations around the country and more than 140 international arrivals and departures every week.
As the international gateway for Christchurch and the South Island, we are the busiest and most strategic air connection to the world's trade and tourism markets.
2024 Financial Year passenger numbers*
- 6.25 million passengers travelled in and out of Christchurch Airport in the 2024 financial year. That compares to 5.69 million the prior year, which is a 10% increase.
- Demand has lead to growth of 5% for domestic passengers year on year, whilst international passengers grew 55%.

2024 Financial Year reporting*
- Net Profit After Tax, including underlying operating profit and revaluations of our investment property, totalled $22.7 million compared to $36.8 million the previous year.
- Underlying operational profit after tax (Net Profit After Tax excluding net tax impact of fair value gains on investment properties, gain on disposal of assets, non-cash lease accounting adjustments and impairment of property, plant & equipment), totalled $41.8 million compared to $37.6 million in the previous year which is a growth of 37%.
- Fair value gains on our investment property portfolio had a gain of $12.8 million, compared to a loss of $4.5 million the previous year. Our overall investment property portfolio was valued at $785 million, up 4.3% on the previous year.
- Our balance sheet strengthened with total asset book value increasing to $2,366 million. That’s growth of about $42 million on prior year.
- The Board of Directors declared an annual dividend of $37.6 million. This was a growth of $10 million on the prior year.
